Whoa! IBM Launches Ubuntu Linux-Only Mainframe Servers Called LinuxONE

IBM (International Business Machines Corporation) recently announced partnering with Canonical to build a new Ubuntu Linux-Only Mainframe Servers Called LinuxONE. The Pricing of the entire mainframe will be like cloud model. IBM is now all set to work on open source enterprise software such as Apache Spark, Node.js, MongoDB, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and Chef to run them on Ubuntu Linux-Only Mainframe Servers Called LinuxONE.

The New IBM Mainframe Server is divided into two following parts:-

  • The First mainframe server Ubuntu Linux is Emperor and runs on the IBM z13.
  • The smaller mainframe Server called the Rockhopper designed for a more entry level mainframe buyer.

IBM is making & promoting strategy on Analytics, Cloud & Security with the help of Ubuntu Linux-Only Mainframe Servers Called LinuxONE. IBM took great step in by announcement of two new mainframe servers based on Ubuntu Linux. This new project will be based on monthly based subscription model.
